Ryusei shivered at the butterfly-like kiss of her love and master and scooted against him as she stroked the feathers covering the smooth, black rune-covered egg. "Well then, you are welcome here," she said softly, laying the back of her head against Orvasrin's chest. She reached back and touched his cheek lovingly before curling up with Askilar.

Orvasrin let his hand stroke her side lightly until she was settled, not wanting to distract her from her nap. He rested his head on his arm for the moment, content to just watch his love and their son resting in front of him. This certainly wasn't how he'd pictured his new life turning out. Before his imprisonment he had never considered taking a mate, pure breed Harundal were his greatest rivals for power and all the other races around him were so inferior that any offspring he'd have would be useless. Somehow though he'd stumbled upon one he could trust, even care for and it had only taken a millennia imprisonment to find her.

((And here comes the Trickster to ruin this lovely family scene.))
With an almighty crash one of the windows in the bedroom imploded and a heavy object flew with a resounding thud into the back wall of the room. It was in fact a brick, to which was tied a copy of the notes the Trickster had taken at the zodiac meeting. Burnt into the side of the brick was the same symbol which had been printed at the head of the letter the trickster had delivered a few days earlier.
Down below in the alley the Trickster stood in the guise of a man it had seen on the street grinning upward at its near perfect shot.

((It's 3 o'clock in the morning. =___= you would the one. Ryusei will have your head, Trickster! xDDDD))
Askilar's aura flared up instantly at the sound of the crash, causing a silver nimbus to surround the egg and Ryusei. The dragoness opened her eyes and sat up, blinking. "What the fuck was that about?" she demanded, turning to Orvasrin. She looked down at Askilar, softly crooning to him to let him know she was unharmed for the moment.

Orvasrin was on his feet moments after the crashing sound, blade formed in his hand as he glanced around. Noticing the brick he quickly moved over to check it, fully prepared to toss it straight back out the window if he felt any magical presence on it. It didn't take him long to notice the papers and more importantly the symbol.
"We're fine, someone just doesn't like doing things subtly." he half sighed and half growled, not best amused with this little stunt. He leafed through the papers quickly, enough to get the general gist of the document. He paused in particular when he read over the descriptions that had been given out of the suspects.
"I think Claud will want to see this, seems Delano has a little party of his own forming." He placed the papers on the bed before going to the window, careful to avoid the shattered glass. He let the blade in his hand retreat back to its liquid form as he peered out, spotting the grinning man pretty quickly.
"You owe me a window, and would it hurt to use the mailbox next time?" he called out, knowing the demon wasn't likely to be listen. It was in his nature to make an annoyance of himself after all. He turned back to Ryu, flipping the glass shards carefully into one corner for a moment with a flick of his hand. He'd need to find something to cover the window with.
"Are you okay?" He asked finally, now that he was quite sure they weren't under attack or anything, although he was keeping his senses open for anything out of the ordinary given the Tricksters liking for pranks.

The Trickster waited until Orvasrin had moved away from the window again before lobbing his second brick. It sailed through the window right next to the one the first brick had just shattered. Wrapped around this second brick was a large amount of bubble wrap a small garment and a note. The note read
"A little gift for the expectant mother. from Uncle T. "
and the small garment was in fact a baby size jester suit in gold and green. It was the Trickster's idea of a nice gesture, but being the creature it was it just had to smash a window in the process of delivering it.
With a second grin it skipped it's way out the alley and disappeared down the darkened street.

At the second brick, the glimmering aura flared around Ryusei first and then the egg. "Yes, we're--"
The top of the egg began to crack and then a piece popped out. Ryusei blinked and looked down into the egg with her orange orb...only to be greeted by a dark-grey one. Soft giggling echoed in the recesses of the ivory egg. Ryusei smiled and stuck her index finger in the egg, blushing when a tiny hand grasped it.
"Well, you certainly showed a time to come," she told Askilar dryly, picking up the half-hatched little boy and shuffling over to the bathroom. She gestured for one minute to her master and then semi-closed the bathroom door.
Askilar blinked brightly and poked his silver-haired head out, smiling as if he had been told the greatest joke. Ryusei held up the baby, though a human would hardly call him that, and huggled him, stroking his swan-feather-soft hair. She swathed him in the phoenix robe and took up the mostly-unbroken egg. Weaving icy fire around the egg, she stormed out of the bathroom with Askilar on her hip and lodged it straight for the Trickster's head.
"From Uncle T, my ass!" she bellowed.

Orvasrin watched the events unfold in a stunned silence. Was that? Then shouldn't he? No...but? He was for once at a complete loss for any words or action short of standing up. He stood milling around while Ryusei disappeared into the bathroom, quickly trying to flick through any memories this man had relating to his child's birth to try and get a rough idea of what he should be doing. Needless to say it was rare Harundal to take any interest in their mates after conception so males didn't tend to be around to see their offspring born. Generally because their mate was out to kill them for whatever reason but when that application applies to the whole race it isn't much of an argument.
Looking at my memories won’t help you, this isn't something that you can revise for. Just do what comes naturally.
Orvasrin would have taken the time to remind the remnant of his place but he ran out of time as Ryusei came back into the room. He decided it best to remain still as she stormed to the window and hurled the projectile after the Trickster, a good reminder that he'd hope to remain on her good side. Her inner fire was a lovely feature when it was directed at others but he doubted the burns from it would heal too quickly. His eyes soon fixed on the small figure bundled up in the robe. So that was him...his son.

Ryusei huffed a bit and turned to nuzzle her little Askilar, who giggled and gave her an eskimo-kiss. However, Orvasrin caught his eye and his orbs widened at the sight of a man who looked like him. The little elfen child reached out with a surprised gasp and giggle. Ryusei chuckled and held Askilar out for her master.
"Big, isn't he?" she chuckled, gesturing to the fact that he was two feet of hatchling curled up in an egg like a jack-in-the-box.
Askilar clung to the phoenix robe, a bit preoccupied with the shininess and the softness of the feathers and silk. However, Orvasrin interested him almost as much as the black and purple blankety-thing and he wanted to explore the man's face. He turned to Ryusei and scrunched up his pearly forehead in confusion. 'Who on earth was this foreign man?' was the obvious expression
Ryusei laughed out loud. "Your father, little one," she told him, resting her delicate ivory hand on Orvasrin's shoulder.

Orvasrin watched the little one squirming around with great interest. He was quite big, bigger than he had expected at least. Watching Askilar as he took in his surroundings with an amused expression, Orvasrin moved closer to the pair, smiling down at the boy.
"He certainly is, and a live one as well." He replied holding up a hand for Aski to inspect if he wanted to. At the feeling of Ryusei's hand on his shoulder he turned to her moving to kiss her cheek softly. "I do believe we have been blessed with a great child. I guess that means there are two blessings in my life now." He gave Ryusei a soft smile before turning back to Askilar.
"He sure does like that robe." he chuckled, watching the boy's movements once more. The memory of the trickster’s prank and the documents was soundly put out of his mind for the time being. The world could be collapsing for all he cared, so long as he had these two he'd be happy.

Askilar promptly began nibbling on Orvasrin's hand with great interest, exploring the callouses and counters of the appendage. "Maaaah!" he mumbled, holding up the hand and putting it on his head like a hat.
Ryusei nodded, red blush faintly appearing on her cheeks. Turning to the east, she noted, "Morning soon..." She brushed a strand of black and silver hair behind her elven ears. "Askilar." The child turned at the sound of his name almost instantly; it was the first word he had ever heard. She held out her arms and he jumped into them readily, waving bye-bye at his father with a cheery smile only a baby knew how to perfect.
"I am going to give him the rites of my kind," she told her master. "I should not be long..."

Orvasrin returned Askilar's wave with one of his own "I'll make sure Claud gets those documents...and see about replacing the windows." He half sighed at the last part, still not believing the nerve that trickster had at times. At the very least they seemed to be on the same side. Something he could remain grateful for it seemed.
"I shouldn't be long as well, call for me if you need anything. I look forward to seeing you both later, be good for your mother Askilar." he told them, before going to find a shirt to put on in one of the drawers. Donning the shirt quickly he moved back to the pair, giving Ryusei a stroke on the cheek and Askilar's hair a tender ruffling. Things were moving rapidly now, between the coven war and the new arrival he could see the next few days being a test.

Askilar, of course, smiled as he always did, for it was his favorite thing to do. Ryusei nodded and held the little one against her as she leapt from the wind, landing atop a roof on the other side of the street. Sniffing the air for the bay area, she turned east and began sprinting away, robes glittering the distance.

Orvasrin watched the two leave with a smile. For now though he should go and look for Claud he figured. He shifted the second lot of glass shards with the first, disposing of them with the aid of a dustpan and brush before grabbing his jacket. Making sure he had Ryusei's book on him, he grabbed the documents, folding them into a pocket. With everything he needed he left the apartment, heading out to hunt Claud down.

A shadow slunk over the sky for a brief moment and then it grasped the balcony. Brillant green eyes flickered this way and that before facing forward. The wraith slipped through the glass undetected and crouched by the coffee table. He padded forward on light footsteps and his hand reached out, so pale compared to the phantom himself. Black talons clenched around the blanket of the little boy, who instantly awakened. Grey eyes met green and the wraith froze. The dragon child made no sound, no alarm, as the man of the night grasped him, holding him against his coat of pure ebony. The phantom turned and at the same time, a wail broke from the dragon child's maw.
"MOMMIEEEEEE!" he screamed.
The phantom thief cursed and shot through the glass door to the balcony, lunging onto the rooftops. He turned slightly to see if he was being followed, a tall silhouette of flowing shadows against a dying sun. The wraith vanished into the dusk, Askilar's cries fading. Ryusei's screams that soon turned into enraged bellows became louder, more sonorous and threatening to erupt over the entire countryside. She had now declared war on the city once again.

Demonic claws dug solidly into the wall, tearing deep gashes as the hand slowly clenched into a tight, quivering fist. This, was this really what it had all come to? So soon after he thought that maybe things could be different, that he could focus on something else. Yet that was not to be, so soon after they reunion, now everything was crumbling. What does one do, he wasn't sure but he laughed, an empty laugh devoid of anything but contempt at the cruel irony this world was creating.
"I see now...so this is what drives men to make deals with demons..." Orvasrin muttered more to himself, head hung and body shaking. Demonic wings having broken from his back and now curved menacingly around him, spikes aimed at invisible foes, the ones that should still have been there. That hadn't been Telckla, he would have sensed her, the coven then?
"Ryusei...I feel the time has come to show the coven just what they are stirring...Twice they have taken something precious from me...I think it's time to show them what happens when you move against a Harundal demon..." he had to keep himself from trying to fully shift in this incomplete body, an act that would certainly kill him. Yet the sheer venom dripping from each word made it perfectly clear that they were going to regret this.

Hot tears of anger poured from her ochre eyes and a dragon's cry could not have been more pronounced. "My baby...," Ryusei sobbed. "My Askilar..." Her head lifted to the sky and she howled, a long mourning cry that echoed constantly. She turned to Orvasrin, hands limp from her place on her knees on the floor. Her white- and black-striped hung from her head, shaking as she trembled. "Why would they do this to him? What would they possibly want with my little one?" she asked hoarsely. The room steadily became cold. The broken and intact glass began to frost over, then crack, shattering completely. Frost coated the entire apartment. Spires of ice threatened to poke out of the carpet.
