She had disallowed them to announce her presence so boldly with horns and other such fanfare, but they still scurried by her side like rats. She gave a heavy sigh as the sisters let her through the gates, but it was unseen. That would be ungainly for her to be seen doing such. Robes of deep crimson and gold swept by as she quickened up her step, ignoring the squeaks of her attendants as they said that it wasn't elegant of a priestess to be power-walking up the stairs and through the doors of the Heavenly Graces. The silver-haired mountain lion were frowned slightly and turned, pausing at a door. Renne cocked her head as she looked at the cursing fox. Her attendants looked appalled. "Young miss, straighten your tongue in front of Her Holiness!" one yipped. A brief look of annoyance flecked her features but it disappeared instantly. "Where is the Reverend Mother, Tass Macaulay?" Renne inquired, her voice soft and gentle.

Chu had been carrying a huge box full of candles. When the elegant stranger and here retinue had swept past. Looking around she lobbed the box at a pair of nuns who stood gawping at the priestess. They squealed an jumped aside as the heavy box thumped into the dirt in front of their feet. Chu shouted over her shoulder for them to take it to the chapel store room as she made her way after the other group.
Catching up just as the regal looking woman paused outside Rei's door and asked her a question. She pushed her way through the nuns until she stood beside the stanger and nodded in a friendly way to her.
"I'm afraid the Reverend Mother has been called a way to attend a meeting of some importance. May I enquire as to the reason for your visit and your name?"
Chu having been bought up in near complete isolation from the unholy see and its exponents had never met the great leader Tass talked about sometimes and did not recognise her appearance. She glanced into the room and saw that Rei had completed her first transformation. Stepping gingerly round the stranger she pulled the blanket away from the wriggling, swearing ball of fur and threw it onto the bed.
"How are you feeling? First transform can be rough sometimes."

"She had called on me to request my permission to get involved in some type of war, my page had put it. I had given my permission, but I would like to talk to her so she may brief me on the status of the city," Renne said softly, her graceful head turning to the Keeper. Strands of moonlit hair drifted left and right, swaying across her robes."And you may tell her, for proprieties' sake, that I am her Holiness, the High Priestess of the Vatican Seat, of the Unholy See. May I view your establishment, escorted by one of your sisters, until she returns?" Though she should not have to ask, being the Most Holy Mother and all, it seemed to be common courtesy that Renne valued the most.

"I'll straighten your tongue when I get my hands back" Rei barked in reply to the nun, she didn't much care who the hell was listening to her right now, she was a freakin' fox. Only when Chu came and retrieved her from the blanket did she start to settle down a little, just about managing to crawl out of her clothes so that she could actually move a little easier. With unsure footing she finally managed to sit back and give the group a good look over. She noted the face of the nun that had spoken out before giving an unsteady bow.
"I apologise for my tone your holiness, I'm not entirely used to all this yet." She just about managed to raise her head before her paws slipped causing her to hit the ground with a none too pleasant thud on her new muzzle.
"GORRAM!" Rei complained, slipping around on the floor some more as she tried to regain her footing. "I'm okay." She told Chu quickly. It was a lie, her body was aching like no ones business and she had a dull pain in her joints, but for the sake of not being a burden...or more to the point to dodge any crazy herbal stuff from the stabby woman she could lie.

Renne swept aside her page's open mouths that were soon to spout out retorts with a regal hand as she stepped forward and kneeled by the were fox's side, sitting on the little bed. She primly straightened out her robes and picked up the large fox, sitting her on the bed. "I understand," she said softly, resting her ivory hand on the fox's head. Her long nails soothingly scratched behind the were's ears before descending to her foreleg, massaging it. "Your Holiness?!" gasped the attendants. She ignored them. "Though I know this seems to be a curse, you must look on this as a blessing," Renne said to Rei. "There is no cure to what they call our 'sickness'."

Rei did her best not to squirm around as she was lifted onto the bed. The scratching of her head was really quite odd, making her calm down a fair bit and her tail start flicking behind her without her wanting it to. She guessed she really was a fox, being petted and everything, jeez. This would take some getting used to, right now it was just embarrassing...strangely calming, but embarrassing.
"You sound just like Tass." She started before noting that she probably wasn't speaking like a human right now and they were happily conversing with her still. "This all still seems like a bad dream, but...I guess I'll get used to it." There had to be some upsides to all this after all. She could go back and claw all those people who had called her an animal after she kicked the crap out of them for example.

Renne laughed, a rich, gentle chuckle. "Yes, Tass and I are similar in that aspect. Little can phase feline-based weres. Once a feline were is produced, they tend to simply go on with their day. A canine-based were, such as yourself and this Skye Rune character I have heard about, tend to...spaz out...as you would say," the priestess said. "Have you been ordained yet or is Abbess Macaulay--Tass, as you know her--letting you go?"

Rei shifted about a little on the bed, trying to get comfortable with this strange layout of limbs. "I think she was going to let me stay here but I don't think it's been anything as formal as ordaining yet." She managed what felt to her like a slight smile. "I think I'd probably have spazzed out cat or not not to be honest, doesn't seem like the kind of thing I would just take in stride."

Chu waited silently until a pause in Rei and the Priestess' conversation before answering the question she had been asked earlier.
"I'm sure one of the abbey's sisters will be happy to escort you around the premises. I myself haven't been ordained or tutored in the history of the buildings so I probably wouldn't be qualified"
The whole organised religious side of lycanthropy bemused Chu sometimes and she'd never felt the need to take part in any of the pomp or ceremony. She therefore had never been ordained or made an official part of the church.

Renne chuckled at the fox were's frankness and nodded. "I understand. It is a rare thing to experience," the priestess said quietly. She lifted her head to Chu when the sister answered her question. "Perhaps I mistook you, but are you not the Keeper, the Reverend Mother's Second-in-Command?" She tilted her head.

Chu coughed and spoke in a quiet tone. Maybe this was not the best person to mention her lack of faith too.
"I am indeed. But only in what you could call earthly matters. Another of the sisters is Tass Macaulay's second on the religious front. My home held to a slightly different tradition."
She really hoped they didn't end up in a theological argument, she did have work to do after all.

"Ah, that is no matter," Renne said, waving her slender hand to show that she didn't mind the differences. She turned to one of her attendants. "Bring me Sister Macaulay on the phone immediately. I would like to know what she wants done with this war I was asked to fund." One of the pages nodded timidly and shuffled off to find good service in the church with his cell phone. The mountain lion were turned her head to the two ladies. "Sisters, I hope the rest of your day finds you safe," she said, her voice soft and melodic as the rest of her appearance. The quaint lady turned and shuffled silently out of the room.

Rei gave her best little wave fox wave, still not exactly used to the difference between the bodies she now had. She laid silently until Renne had gone and then for a little while afterwards before voicing the thought that had been running around her head.
"Holy shit, not even a day into this and I meet your pope while tangled in a quilt after my first change, swearing like a drunkard. How is this fair?" she complained to Chu, squirming to lay on her front so she could run her paw over her head.
"And why on earth does this stupid thing like getting ear scratches, that was just..." She shivered a little, still not entirely sure what this thing was doing with or without her direct control. It as fine, she was just delirious from this whole being a fox thing, she'd figure it out soon...maybe.
"You can understand me right?" she asked suddenly, the thought reappearing from earlier.

Chu sat down on the bed and looked at the small fox that was Rei.
"Sure I can understand you. It has been quite a day for you, catch the wierdest virus ever and meet the head plague bearer as it were."
She smiled at Rei as she used her hind leg to scratch her ear and the look of annoyance on her canine face.
"The animal instincts take over a bit in that form. Like if I changed I'd feel quite the urge to tear you limb from limb and eat your innards. Lucky for you I'm good at controlling my urges."

"Okay...well...guess I'd better not got and roll in barbecue sauce or anything around you then..." Rei half heartedly chuckled but still managing to give Chu a look that was quite clearly a little nervous about the whole idea of people considering snacking on her.
"Guess it's a good thing there's only women here as well..." not much liking the idea of animal instincts and men in the same picture, some of them were bad enough already. She carefully got to her feet and burrowed under the covers on the bed before moving around to poke her head and fore legs out over near the pillow. It had just occurred to her that she had no idea when she was going to change back and when she did she'd be without her clothes.

Chu sighed and looked down at the woman next to her in her fox form. She chose to ignore the barbeque sauce crack and instead answered Rei's other worry.
"Yeah, the whole relationship thing can get a bit intense if you're not careful. But you've got it lucky compared to me. Think what its like when a full grown male polar bear tries courting you. I can only take so many evicerated seal carcasses arriving on my front step."
Chu stood and stretched before looking down again at the fox.
"Seeing as you shredded your old clothes in your first change I'll go and find you some other things to wear. They'll be second hand but the sisters take good care of their clothes."

Rei smiled a little, trying to imagine something like that happening and quickly decided that it was a small blessing she was only a fox. No dead seals for her.
"Again, I'm glad we are all girls here." Rei simply confirmed her previous statement, not feeling she'd be able to answer in a way that would avoid a trip to snack town otherwise. Though she still had to figure out how much of a joke that had been.
"Oh that would great, thanks. Wouldn't want to be under dressed for her highness after all." she said as she rolled onto her side. Her tail swished lazily under the quilt as she thought on what she was going to be getting into by staying here.

Chu nodded and grinned before walking out of the room and moving off toward the sisters laundry room. She selected some of the clean clothing that she thought would fit the other woman and bundled it all up with a towel in case she wanted a shower when she changed back. She wandered back toward Rei's room and knocked politely on the doorframe before coming back in and placing the clothes on the chair next to the bed.
"You want me to stay here or leave you alone for a bit. I'll understand either way."

Rei shifted around uncomfortably in the bed while waiting for Chu to return. Part of her just wanted to go off exploring to stretch her legs but the rest of her was set on staying here until she turned back to 'normal'. Then again she had to remind herself that this was going to be pretty routine for her from now on. By the time Chu returned she'd ended up shifting around so much that the quilt had fallen from the bed so she had to try and get it back on the bed, which was a little harder without hands but she had mostly managed it by the time the knocks on the door were heard.
"Oh, well if you've got things to do then by all means, I'll be fine here so don't worry. Guess I should probably try to sleep this off though." She managed to just about say around the quilt as she hoisted it fully back onto the bed, setting about curling up under it again.
