"Yes, indeed. We are paradoxes, holy women during the day and hell cats during the night," Tass said, bursting into laughter. She slapped her knee as she sat down next to the Virgin Mary.
"Well, I mean, gang-wise. Breaking and entering, arson, vandalism, rioting, things of that nature."

"You know I still find it hard to believe I'd ever find a nun who'd ask about that." Rei grinned as she carefully sat down as well. "I’ve generally done muggings, intimidation and things like that, some breaking and entering as well. I tended to stay away from fights, saw enough people disappear after some pointless fight to not really want to get involved." Rei sighed, tapping her pocket with the switchblade in it lightly.
"Of course you can't always avoid them."

"Well, we'll have to train you. We want a professional clean job, not something that looks like a five-year-old with a crayon did it on accident," Tass said. Her expression stiffened and her hands folded on her lap primly. She let out a heavy exhale and lowered her head. "This city..." She shook her head.

"Well I like to think I'm at least a ten year old with a pencil, but yeah, I'm probably not up to your par." Rei replied with a sigh. She hadn't really done that much gang work for gangs as such. She was always just around them and mostly did her own thing a lot of the time. That was going to have to change she guessed, not like she could just wander off now she knew the local nuns were not quite so nice all the time.
She was about to say something else when she was cut off by a coughing fit. She shielded her mouth and grimaced at the pain the involuntary motions of her body caused. She managed to refrain from cursing seeing as she was in the presence of nuns, odd though they may be.

Tass was jerked from her solemn reverie by Rei's coughing. "Oh dear, oh dear," she said, sounding, once again, like the dutiful nun. She came to her feet and guided Rei to do the same, clinging to her arm as the abbess began to guide her back to the room to give her some broth and rest.

Rei didn’t put up any resistance to the standing or being led back tot he room, far too busy trying to stem the coughing and the sudden pain. She flumped on the bed heavily when they returned to them, the pains from earlier returning in full force.
"Stupid body being in stupid pain." She managed to grumble out between bouts of coughing, still just about managing to keep her language toned down. She curled up a little on the bed, shivering even though she was about as far from being cold as she figured she could get. Slipping off her jacket, which she pushed to one side, mainly so she wouldn't end up rolling around on her knife or anything, she settled down a little as on the bed.

Tass patted Rei's head comfortingly. "Take it easy. Take it easy," she said gently. The nun crossed herself and then shuffled out of the room, meeting the sisters posting as the guards.
"Have you found the fox?" she asked, tilting her head.
"Yes, Reverend Mother," they said, dipping their heads. The nuns murmured blessings and departed to confront the beast.

Rei gripped the covers of the bed tightly as new waves of pain coursed through her body. She twisted and turned on the bed, burying her head in her arms. She barely registered Tass leaving the room but took that as enough of a reason to let herself vocalise exactly what she was thinking. Although she still cursed in quite a low voice more because it just hurt more to shout at the moment. Slight changes were beginning to appear as the virus took a greater hold on her and drew ever closer to changing her entirely.

At this very moment Claudius took his time strolling up the front of the church in his normal human attire. With a quick rasp of his knuckles upon the church door he awaited for one of the nuns to answer him. He needed to see where each pack stood on this impending war…. And figure out a plan to stop it overall.

One of the human sisters noticed Claudius at the door and she shuffled over to him, smiling serenely as she dipped her head. "Welcome to the Heavenly Graces, brother," she said softly, gesturing to the large cathedral behind her. Several other sisters, were and human, glanced curiously at him as they strolled by. "How may I help you?" She did not open the ironcast gate.

" I wish to speak to the head mother is you please. It's very important I speak with her.... tell her.... my name is Claudius Lothair." He informed them knowing most of the creatures in the city knew his name especially after the price was put upon his head by the coven.

The sister bowed her head and unlocked the gate swiftly, allowing him inside before locking it once more. She turned with a sweep of her hem and shuffled towards the cathedral, head bent and hands clasped. Once she had entered the church with a heavy yank of the hard wood doors, the sister silently made her way to the right, where a crucifix was affixed to a door. She knocked on it. "Reverend Mother, there is a guest for you..."
"Who is it?" came the brisk reply.
"He calls himself Claudius Lothair," the sister replied, her voice unchanging. The name did not faze her.
"Have him enter...."
The sister brushed her hand across the silver crucifix reverently and opened the door to Tass Macaulay, Reverend Mother of the Heavenly Graces. Her face creased into a slightly-wrinkled smile. "How may I help you, my son?" she asked gently, sitting at her desk. She was filling out paperwork to have a patch of the roof repaired.

Claudius followed in silence as nothing but the clicking sound of his dress shoes against the tiles and wood of the church as he walked behind the nun to the reverend mothers door. Welcomed inside the man strode to a chair. Sitting before the desk and feeling much like he did back in the days of his youth when he was still in school and had gotten in trouble for illegal use of magic on school grounds or other such nonsense at the witching academy he had attended.
" I am sorry for it seems you are very busy. Though.... I wish to give you my condolences for the recent loss of your past Reverend mother. There as been alot of recent losses." He started. Trying to be polite to the woman as he held his hands in his lap. His cool teal eyes peered beneath the hue of his tinted glasses. Watching her for any hint of agitation, or whatever else his prescience might arise.
"That is not the only reason for my appearance this day sadly... I also would like to request.... to know what your plans are with the dark one that has appeared on the cities doorstep." He told her keeping things cryptic in case some of the nuns were not to know of the other world of the night creatures.

Tass' head tilted curiously and questioningly. The lines of her lips dipped so slightly it looked almost imagined. The abbess' eyes closed and she sighed heavily through her nose. "My son, these times are hard on the church," she said, grumbling good-naturedly as she waved the paperwork around. "Our prayers will be answered in time." Her motherly eyes turned to the sister who had escorted Claud.
"My daughter, please go to Sister Cayenne and tell her to send the next shipment of Gospel upstairs," she said. The sister nodded and shuffled away, the door clicking behind her. At this point, Tass reached down and casually pulled out an AK-47, cocking in a new clip and pointing the assault rifle straight at Claud's forehead as if she was asking the man if he wanted some tea.
"Now, answer me this. What animal guards the Black Gates, holding the clocks?" she said sternly.

Claudius looked at her unmoving. His human face as cold as stone. If he had been in gargoyle form the panic would be evident on his face, though in his mortal form. He looked strangely serene. Having taught himself long ago how to contort his features so nothing would be given off.
“ It’s according to what black gates you speak of. Could you be more open now we are alone, or are we going to play with riddles?” He asked the woman as a thought crossed his mind. Was she speaking of him? Was she testing to see if he was truly who he said he was? To prove himself Claudius sighed a bit sitting back in a defeated state.
“ Though if you speak of the demon that guards the clock tower….” He started as his eyes suddenly flashed bright, a hint of gray starting at his face and melting down his form while bone reconstructed and wings stretched painfully from his back. The witch had released his counter curse and soon sat before her in the full form of a lesser gargoyle. His face still cold through all of the process or at least as stern as he could force it.
“ That sadly would be me..” He responded. Looking to her over his teal glasses once more. Feeling still awkward from shifting in front of others like that. For so long he had kept the secret…. And now it was starting to become a parlor trick of sorts.

"The Black Gates. The Gates where no one comes out the same way. The Gates the weres fear, the clocks that click for our slaughter. The Black Gates, where Nouikketsu lives, that Angel of Death," Tass said softly, her eye still poised along her rifle. She sighed and released the barrel from Claud's forehead.
"Just because you think we are alone doesn't mean we are. You should not be so eager to shed yourself so quickly, Mister Claudius Lothair," the abbess said gently, patting his head like a mother would do for a son as she lowered the assault weapon onto her lap. Tass dipped her head. "But this answer will do." She folded her hands.
"Now, what would you like with the services of the Sisters of the Heavenly Graces. Having problems with dark mischief?"

“Nouikketsu is no worry to you. I promise your people’s blood will not be shed as long as they respect their own pack laws. “ He told her, wincing a bit as his head was patted like a child. His tufted tip swept up playfully as if to show his annoyance at that. He shifted back into his human shape at this. In case one of the others slipped inside that did not need to see that.
“ I would like to know I have your allegiance….. That you will trust in my organization that is trying to strive to take over what the coven has failed to do… Also we shall soon be needing funding…. To help protect this city, and keep Delano at bay. I have money for not but without the covens funds aiding my movements… it won’t be long till I run out of materials.” He informed the woman once more with political hint in his tone.

Tass' brows raised. "The Council of Cardinals would not be pleased to give funds for this campaign of the Coven. I may not be a witch but I certainly am not as blind as the others who ignore the basis of this Delano character," the abbess said sternly, folding her hands in her lap. "The sisters here have been tending the wounded and sick the best that we can, especially now that these supernatural creatures are coming." Her tone sounded considerably innocent of the things going on, being that she was supposed to be the mortal Reverend Mother.
"My son, why have you come to the Church for this matter? We are dedicated to protection not vendettas. The Church is not a military machine."

“ I must not be reading my history books right, for it seems the church has fought many a war in Gods name. If not by force, then just by support. Help in any shape or form would be great, and not to mention. Rumors have started that your kind is on the move. I know you have guns and other weapons, and I also know your not as innocent as you deem to be.” He questioned to see her reaction. They may have been holeing their self up but surely the were has heard at least something.

"My kind?" Tass demanded stonily. "The only thing the sisters have done to be 'on the move' is enforce the barriers around the Church. We arm ourselves to protect ourselves. As for innocence, only the Holy Mother holds that in her honored clasp. None of us are innocent." The abbess frowned and held her hands tighter. "Master Lothair..." She sighed heavily. "The sisters will not go to war for you. We have enough problems as it is," she said dismissively, pulling out a pen and beginning to write on some more paperwork. She rested her head on her hand. "Is there anything else you would like to say?"

Claudius sighed at this.
“ You are a confusing bunch Reverend mother. I guess then I should go. Still, if you need help…. I will not turn you or your sisters away. My new reign shall be with a fair eye, not like the witches of old used to prosecute you.” He spoke with a bow of his head and a kind smile.
“ Till we meet again.” He added with a afterthought.

Tass smiled and bowed her head. "Farewell, my son," she said gently. When the door shut, she exhaled heavily, shaking her head. "They don't know when to quit." She picked up her assault rifle and threw open the door after Claud, dashing past him comically in her black and white habit.
"I want that Gospel up here on the double!" she bellowed.

Claudius sighed at this as the woman ran past shouting.
“ Peaceful nuns my ass. “ He muttered as he simply strolled down the stairs. The light in the halls playing upon his raven locks that bounced with every move. Man… he needed a drink after dealing with this nutty pack.

Chu had finished all of her duties around the church and convent hours ago and had been wandering around for the last few hours having heated discussions with various Sisters about the divergence of her and their ideas of spirituality. Nobody had told her about the church's visitor until minutes ago and she had decided to go and find the woman and see how she was holding up, someone had mentioned she was ill. Finally she arrived at the room they had put the girl in and quietly pushed open the door. Seeing the girl curled up in the bed she sussed what the 'illness' was straight away and her face split into a happy grin, oblivious to the pain obvious in the girl's face and body.
"Oh you've been blessed by the spirits! And I have just the thing to help the blessing on it's way."
Knowing that the transformation for a bitten were could be excruciatingly painful, Chu's ancestors had crafted certain objects and remedies to attempt to smooth and calm the process. Chu now carried one of them around with her at all times as a precaution. She flipped her long snake of hair over her shoulder and withdrew a delicate looking wooden needle from the plait she darted forward before Rei could react and pushed it far enough into her arm to release a glossy drop of blood. Pulling the needle away quickly Chu watched for the chemicals on its tip, now in Rei's bloodstream to take effect.

Rei had been half asleep, falling in and out of those confusing nightmares when her eyes drifted closed for too long. Her body was still refusing to let up on the pain front so she had just been curled up, hoping it'd all be over soon. Of course she still wasn't buying that were story, she just had a fever from that stupid fox that bit her earlier...stupid thing.
She only barely registered the nun coming into the room, not really seeing it as important next to blotting out the pain she was feeling. Some words were said, which Rei ignored, and before she could put to and two together she felt a prick on her arm. Normally she wouldn't have made such a big deal about such an action but with the state she was in she ended up practically jumping out of the bed, much to her bodies protests.
"What...What the he...ck was that for?!" she demanded, just about remembering not to unleash a torrent of curses at the sudden needle attack.
