Once again the full moon was upon the city, Clare could feel it in her blood. Not that the moon would effect her, no not at all. She was a shifter and not a were so she was good and peaceful with the moon. Accept for the fact though that everyone else went loco with the full white orb riding across the sky. She was currently alone and looking through a special box she kept under the cabinet with strange things that no human should touch. She was taking in her stock, and committing to memory all the prior thefts and what she had in stock and what she should need to get more of. The cat like female smiled to herself as her hand graced the most recent theft she had committed. Stroking her hand over a nice small stone she grinned. How she loved collecting things, especially things that would draw her extra cash.

Mal had made his way to the shop at a leisurely pace, not feeling any need to rush. Things had been a little strange the past few days but it was nothing to be really worried about. Sure he was working for a woman that assumed the city was going to eat him whole, he was sure she was worried about nothing though. A job was a job and he needed money so right now he could overlook her eccentric nature. Besides it was nice to have someone around to make things more interesting, even if she had been trying to steal from him originally. When he made it too the shop he entered quietly, making sure to close the door behind him. it seemed she was occupied, not that it was a surprising sight.
"Hey there, anything you want me to get on with?" He asked, keeping a little distance for the time being since he didn't want to interrupt her. She might have been looking at one of her dangerous objects or something after all. He had to wonder if he'd be here if she wasn't cute, but that wasn't something he pondered on for too long. He'd too many problems with that in his life before.

Clare looked up with feline green eyes and a smirk on her face as usual. One of those charismatic grins that said she had the world in the palm of her hand.
" Get sweeping, people have been tracking mud in here all day." She told him. She had allowed him to think her hip was healing at a slow pace and had just fully mended.
" Also, there's a full moon tonight. Did you bring a weapon like I left note on your last paycheck?" She asked him since she had left the note simply saying don't forget your weapon on and the day of the full moons date. She looked up slowly as she snapped shut the box and shuttled it beneath the counter and locked it up tight.

Mal didn't pay any attention to how quickly the box disappeared again. He could respect her not sharing everything with him. He'd not exactly been a man to shy away from questionable jobs before so he was used to it. He doubted she was harbouring anything truly terrible anyway. She didn't strike him as the type, not that he could say that safely with his track record.
"Sure thing," he replies as he moves to collect the broom to get to work. He didn't need her straining her leg injury anymore after all. He was just glad that whoever she had fought with seemed content to leave things well enough alone.
"Yeah, I've brought a couple things, would help if you would tell me what I'm supposed to be worried about though." He tells her, setting to work on sweeping the place while listening to what she might have to say.

Clare looked around for a moment, almost as if to think of what she should say to him. She paused for a moment as she scratched the side of her cheek, smiling as if reviling in her own little secret. She then paused and looked over to him.
" Full moon Mal. I would think you were smart enough to get this one. Were creatures are out, beasts that were once human. Some retain human thinking but others..... well other's give into their frenzy. There will be patrols out to keep the order tonight but sometimes a person straying into shadows ends up with their death. I'll be open till late like normal. The city never shuts down, not even on the full moon. Though I want you to be well protected. The bite or scratch of one of them can cause you to live life like they do. " She smirked as she waited for his reaction. Waited to see how crazy he thought her. He didn't tell him yet the man with silver hair that stopped by on occasion to shoot the breeze was one of those beast. Comrade the were rat and owner of the Cheshire Cat.

"Yeaha, so your wanting me to believe that despite living here my whole life I've never noticed big wolf men running around every month or so?" He really couldn't believe that she wasn't pulling his leg. Sure he'd brought extending metal baton with him but he didn't think he'd need to use it. She just wanted to keep him on his toes, he was sure of it.
"Nice of you to be concerned though. I don't think i need to be getting into any more trouble." He continues as he continues his work. Sweeping and working here was fairly easy compared to some jobs he'd worked, weres or no weres. He turned to look out at the street, she seemed pretty together though so why all this stuff about creatures roaming around.
"If it's so dangerous though why do you stay open? Wouldn't it make sense to close?" He expected he knew the answer to that but he figured he'd ask anyway.

" Money of course, human's don't stop spending cause they don't know were's exist for the most part. Those that do head off the streets early. Also other creatures of the night don't care about the were's. Humans are the fragile ones that have to fear a wolf chasing them. Though that brings us to part two of this discussion." She smirked holding up her fingers to signal two.
" Patrols, witches will be out tonight. Keeping the little pups and cubs in line, ever notice though..... how it seems on occasion there is a few 'dog' or large animal attacks around the city? Might want to check out the dates in the paper compared to the lunar month." She winked at him deviously as she made her way over to a display and re-arranged it. She was finding it a little interesting to educate a human on things she had known since she herself was nothing but a cub, and she was finding it fun to keep him guessing on how she knew so much. She moved with a grace around the display as her hips moved to and fro with a feline element to them.

"Figured, danger always brings more customers than not. I guess us silly humans can't wait a day for our nick naks either." Mal chuckles, not really seeming to exclude Claire when he mentions 'us'. As far as he knows she is human, even if she is a funny one. He finishes up his first sweeping, most of the dirt now done away with as he sets about making sure the place is clean and presentable.
"This city has never been all that safe. All sorts gets let off the leash here. I'm sure there are plenty of big animal attacks during the month as well but sure, I'll check the dates in future." He smiled, watching her as she moved, she was pretty graceful despite that leg injury. Certainly seemed exotic too though that might just be her seeming obsession with conspiracies.
"Any hints on spotting a witch then? I'm guessing they are not covered in warts and wearing a pointed hat." He asks, shifting his attention to her again as he works around quickly with the broom. He might as well humour her, it made for interesting conversation regardless of how crazy the ideas were to him.

She laughed at this with a shake of her head. " No, not quite." she smirked as she posed a mannequin.
They are just humans in all shapes and forms, the only real way to tell for sure is when they use their magic. I mean you could go on magical based tattoo's and strange hair colors as well but then again if you have ever walked through some of the high schools now a days.... you would think every kid in them walls was a witch as well." She joked with him then hmm'ed to herself.
" If your sensitive to the world around you, you just might sense their vibes, a heightened sense of power around them. Thats about it though, to normal people though their the good guy. So they will protect you." She informed him then sighed.
" Unless you get infected as a were, then well, their your worst enemy." She shrugged like it was no big deal.
" Very cocky people really, they think only them and humans should be alive on this earth you know. It's a very loathsome view of things. Secluding other races just cause you think your right and all." She told him.
" Their are more attacks though around the moon, look it up I tell you. You'll find it interesting." She added as she moved to help a customer that came in showing him around and finding the items the person wanted before showing him out to resume their conversation.

"That might be good advice if I didn't know a lot of arrogant people in general. I'm quite sure they are not all witches either," he chuckles. "And yeah, I never know what people were thinking when they invented the current fashions. Maybe I'll just pretend all the teenagers are witches and avoid them all the more." He joked, not really sure what to make of all that.
"So stay away from rabid animals and you're otherwise good then? Seems simple enough." He tells her, still not buying the stories. He'd keep it in mind though, just because he couldn't really say for sure that she was lying.
"I'll be sure to look into it. Anything you want me to do after this sweeping? He asked when she was done with her customer, wondering what other tasks he'd have for the day.

" We need to move some new items out onto the floor. A few pieces of furniture and antiques of course." She smirked at him as she stood before him for moment before she was about to turn to head into the back when the door bell jingled with the approach of another customer. When she turned she saw the neighbor with the magic shop across the street walk in wearing his loose button down sky blue shirt and black pants as usual. His long white hair was braided but his face was youthful despite the coloration. Blue orbs looked up nervously to Clare.
" Hey, Clare... um... have you come across any er......old books?" He asked with a nodd to the side room where he knew she kept her magical artifacts. Clare smirked at this.
" Got a few that are right up your alley, Mal take him into the side room. He knows where to look. " She grinned like a cat watching a little mouse she was about to play with. Adrian was harmless though he was so clumsy and nervous he was always good for a show and what better way to prove her point then letting Mal deal with him.
" Don't worry Mr. Rune, Mal here knows all about the.... special needs people in the city." She smirked allowing Adrian to think Mal knew about night breeds and witches even if he was just human.

"Sure, just let me know what needs moved," Mal smiled, watching her as something caught her interest. It didn't really surprise him that someone from the magic shop would come here. He could only imagine both places were about as odd as the other, perhaps even their owners too. He'd keep that to himself though, despite the strangeness, this was still easy work. Special needs was right though, just maybe not in the way the pair were talking about. It was still very much up for debate just how much of her strange behaviour was an act.
"Right this way, sir," Mal spoke up, being nice and polite. Customer service was not something he was particularly versed in but he could be pleasant enough. The guy was probably just looking for some old book written in gibberish that he could pass off as a magic tome to some kids. Shouldn't be too hard to find in here of all places.

Adrian followed behind Mal closely, still as nervous and high-strung as ever. His deep blue orbs watched the man as he was lead into the side room and started to mill over the shelves of older texts. He seemed to make a soft sound of disappointment as he quickly ran his hand over the spines of the first row of books, fingers moving in a graceful manner but still all the same with a bit of a nervous itch.
" By the Godess I am going to be in so much trouble when Claudius finds out what I have done." He moaned to himself under his breath, searching to see if there were any books over here related to banishing evil spirits back to a darker realm. Again he fumbled with his spells, grabbing the wrong jar of herbs and calling forth a spirit into human shape rather then calling forth old memories into a human mind. Details, details of course! Nothing is ever so simple.
" Mal was it? Do you know if any texts came in about .... well um... heh. Uh spirit banishing? Or something like that?" He asked laughing a bit between sentences in a nervous manner.
" I've seemed to mess up again...... .... I mean people keep questioning why I am hanging around the school and it's not like I can tell them why....... I need a excuse, I thought if I can help her to remember....... dear god I am rambling again and you don't even know what it is I am talking about." Adrian remarked as he lifted his eyes sheepishly to the other male in the room.
" I'm so used to talking to myself anymore..... I think I am going partially crazy.... well more so then normal but it doesn't help with all the chaos that has gone on in this city, first the coven falling and then me being a criminal and then not and then my friend dissappears...... can anyone ever be sane really in this God forsaken city." He rambled on as a frown crossed his face in a child like manner of innocence and utter self confusion on his own part.

"I think there were some more over here, haven't looked over them though." Male answered, moving to dig out what other books he'd seen back here. He really couldn't say that he would know what to even look for in a book of spirit banishing. Giving the options wouldn't hurt though. Though he wondered if the man might try some self help books instead, he certainly seemed like he might need them.
"Whatever helps you order your thoughts." Mal shrugged, keeping his opinion to himself. He had to wonder just what school he was on about, but he figured it was better to ask Clare that given how the man was right now. Delusional was the best word Mal could come up with to describe him. Wanting to be helpful, if only to lessen his exposure to the man, Mal flipped through some of the books, looking for what he was after.

" Or keep you from completely looseing it." Adrian sighed as he picked up a book and a hopeful look crossed his face. " Oh my goddesses I think I found it!" He exclaimed as he took a step back bumping into a old vase, as he knocked it off his pedestal he quickly put his hand out, a glow of energy encaseing the vase just centimeters from the ground. " Clare would of killed me.... again ..... if that broke.... gods." he spoke in a deep pathetic voice as he raised his hands and caused the energy about the vase to life it back on the pedestal. He sighed and wiped his brow once the thing was back in place. " Anyway.... this! This is what i need. I am sure of it....." He remarked as he looked back to Mal. " Thanks for your help." He saluted him as he went to move out front to pay for the item. (( I'm going to have him actually leave eventually and then yeah run back in total terror when everything fails ))

Mal had opened one of the books and started to skim the contents, a little curious as to what sort of nonsense was written in these. He looked up briefly when the man exclaimed his discovery, but didn't pay much attention as he closed the book before him. He put away the ones he had moved, missing the little show of magic as he turned around in time to catch the salute.
"Glad to be of help. We should have all of this better organised the next time you need it." He tells Adrian, happy enough to move back out to Clare as well now that he was done. He guessed he seemed harmless... a klutz certainly. No point complaining, given the type of shop he was working in, there were bound to be a few eccentric regulars.

As they left the room Clare looked up with a coy little feline like grin upon her face. " Find what you wanted?" she asked Adrian who nodded. He showed her the book and she looked over to Mal.
" Ring him up for 186 Dollars." She instructed as Adrian looked to her with his mouth open.... that..... was pricey.... for a book.....Clare smirked at this.
" Hey you need it, I need the money." she responded as Adrian sighed and fumbled for his wallet which of course was a blue leather with a nice silver pentagram in the center.
" You drive a hard bargain woman." He responded as he shrugged looking to Mal.
" How'd you get mixed up with her anyway??" He asked curiously.

"Sure thing boss." Mal commented, moving to ring the man up as instructed. That did seem pretty steep for a book, rare or not. Though he didn't seem unwilling to pay that price either. He guessed it was the same reason people paid so much for collectable things that are just rubbish to others. Ah well, to each his own.
"The usual. Mysterious girl saves man from danger, man repays her by working in a magic shop. Man also needed a job so alls well that ends well." He didn't exactly feel the need to go into detail. As it was it was unlikely to be believed so why make it any more out of the ordinary. It already sounded like the start to some bad romance flick where the girl was an elf or angel or something. Heh, Clare an angel. Not likely.

Adrian sighed at this. " There is always alot of people to save within this hell hole of a city, though it makes me curious that she allowed you to work in her shop. Clare is not the .... overly friendly sort you know." He pointed out as Clare shrugged.
" What can I say, I don't mind a bit of eye candy around for the teenies to google at." She smirked kidding of course as Adrian just shook his head.
" ANyway wish me luck with this mess. If I can't fix this mess I will be in the worst trouble of my life." He told him as he paid and took the book.

"Then I hope it proves helpful. Would be a shame to loose a good customer." Mal tells him as he takes and sorts the money. He casts his eyes over to Clare quickly, though ends up smiling and shaking his head. He wouldn't put it past her, though he knew they had a more interesting agreement.

Clare smirked as the witch left.
" You handled yourself fairly well there." Clare smirked as she moved off her perch to stand before Mal with her arms crossed and cat like eyes watching him as if he was a little mouse for her to play with.
" So what did you think of our lovely neighbor?" She questioned him, letting him tell her so she could make a better assessment of what this boy did or did not understand.

Mal had to chuckle a little, trying to form his opinion into a few words. It was a little harder to do than he would have liked but he finally made up his mind as he relaxed behind the counter.
"He was interesting. A little strange certainly but he seems honest at least. Might want to watch what he says a little more though or people would get the wrong idea." He tells Clare, watching her with an amused look. If she thought that was enough crazy to dissuade him then she had another thing coming.

She laughed at this little fact of his.
" He knows when to keep quiet, he only spoke openly cause I said you were ok." She smirked as she went back to organizing things. It wasn't long afterwards when Adrian came running back in with a deep gash crossed his arm and his sleeve pulled from his shirt.
" Clare!!! Wrong book!" She shouted at her in a panic as he had done his spell in the space of a hour and well only pissed the deity off more. He ran over to the male that had helped him and laughed innocently.
" Do you mind helping me? I need to um.... stall thing thing so I can .... figure out how to put this thing back....." Adrian smiled innocently. Clare was about to ask what the hell he did when the streets outside suddenly seem darker then normal as the wind kicked up.
" Oh boy...." He whimpered as he looked back over to the young man.
