The ground was damp below her feet. It had been a wise move to keep her tennis shoes out a little longer. The bottoms of her jeans where soaking up the water as she made sure to walk through every puddle the storm had left behind. She could remember a time when she took great enjoyment in splashing through puddles but that time had passed and instead she was here. Here though wasn't much different from the other places she had been. It was just a city with people who thought the world was a normal place. They closed there eyes to anything that was strange or out of the ordinary. Those that did know denied it and worked hard to rid the world of it in secret.
Solem pushed the thoughts away and continued to walk down the park trail with only the moons light to guide her. She walks along as a black silhouttee for a long time then sighs softly. As used to being forgotten as she was. She still missed the feeling of being loved. It was one of those things that you grow accustom to and then aren't sure how to deal with when they are gone. She had still had so much to ask her parents about and still could not. It was easy enough to enter the dead and speak with them but the world was not as safe as it once had been. She feared leaving her own form alone in the world. She did not wish to be trapped in the dead just yet. She ponders over the thoughts for a little while then pushes them all away. She walks over to one of the swings and sits down. From her pocket she pulls a set of headphones. She carefully places them in her ear and starts to swing slowly. Her feet never leave the ground and most wouldn't call it moving. To her it was enough to help her get lost in the words of the song and forget about the past for now.

Aran checked his pockets idly as he walked through the park; having spent the evening ‘bumping into people’ he’d had a good few little trinkets ‘fall into his pockets’. Though most of what he had acquired over the evening was of little worth, most of it barely worth pawning off. Still money was money and at the end of the day every little bit he could send home was worth the hassle, besides the more worthless the items the less they’d be missed. It was getting late though and with the full moon drawing close and the current trouble with the coven he didn’t want to be out for the whole night. Far better to get some rest and prepare for the coming days. With any luck a lot of the city would calm down a bit so he didn’t have to worry so much about his own well being when out and about.
It was during these thoughts that he passed the park swings, noticing the figure sat on them. He glanced over, keeping himself walking and seeming uninterested until he noticed that it seemed to be a woman. What on earth was she doing out at this time of night by herself. Then again, if she was out by herself the chances were that she either wasn’t human or was stupid. In either case Aran waited until he reached the next tree that would block the view of the swings and moved off the path to lean against it, observing the woman casually. Now it wouldn’t be too nice to leave a woman all alone in a dangerous city like this, but he didn’t want to approach just yet, for all he knew it was a vamp or some kind of witch sting operation.

Solem let the music surround her and envelope her for a few moments. It calmed her even in a place where she should be far from calm. As she listens she gets the feeling she is being watched. She slowly takes the headphones from her ears and allows them to slip back into her pocket. She stands slowly and looks around. She couldn't seem to find where it was coming from. Her hand slowly reached up and touched on of the seven charms that dangled around her neck. She moved slowly closer to the path. She was ready to speak if need be. She knew her kinds language well and could pull things far worse then the likes of what she had seen here so far.
As she moves closer she slowly starts to see a figure near the tree. She tilts her head a little but doesn't move towards it. What manner of creature would watch her but hide at the same time. She watches for a moment then speaks, "You are?" It was the most she had spoken since she got here.

Aran was surprised to see the woman stand so suddenly after his arrival, even more surprised to see her head towards the path close to where he was. He was quite sure he was well hidden enough so either she was really good at noticing things or she certainly wasn't a human. He had to sigh a little as she called out, knowing that she at least knew someone was around. Staying hidden wouldn't be doing him and favours on the first impression front so he might as well get this explanation over with.
"Someone who can't help but wonder what a young woman is doing all by herself on a night like this. I'd hope she's well informed about how dangerous this city has been as of late." He replied to the call casually, as if he hadn't been keeping himself concealed. He stepped out, moving to lean against the tree again, but now in the light where she could see him. Now to wait to see how that went down...

Her eyes settled upon him as she took in what the moonlight showed her. He seemed to stand a few inches taller then her which wasn't a hard accomplishment. Her eyes glace over his form but little can be made out in the darkness. Her hand slides from the middle charm that she had been holding to the smallest. It was a sign that she didn't fear him as much as she could, but she was far from trusting him with her life. His words drift to her ears and she ponders them as a few strands of her bangs fall from where they had been sentenced to stay. They hand infront of her eyes and hide the deep blue that resides in them.
The danger here I do not know about. I have heard no rumors, nor been told. She fell silent for a moment as her eyes lower from his. Her voice is hardly above a whisper when she speaks again, The forgotten are never told.

Aran took a further moment to examine her at this information. If she hadn't heard anything then it would seem she either was a human or kept her head buried very deeply in the sand. Either way the dangers were very real and he'd just have to take the time to inform her in one way or another once he figured out what she was. Telling a human about the coven fiasco wasn't on the top of his list of things to do after all.
"Forgotten eh? Now why would you go and say something like that?" By now he was very much hoping he hadn't run into someone who was going to overburden him with personal problems. He had his own concerns to be dealing with and didn't need to hear about how her boyfriend had dumped her or anything else that would make her call herself forgotten.
"Either way, this city isn't exactly safe at night, now more than ever. If you have somewhere to be going I'll be happy to see you there safely, else I can just leave. Don't go blaming me if you get into trouble though." He waited for her reaction, half hoping to either scare her into leaving of her own accord or at least revealing what she was.

She stood there and listened to his words. She wasn't one to show fear. She had learned that fear was a weakness and she had never had time to be weak. Life had always demanded that she be strong. Yet as he spoke she could feel a cold feeling sweep over her that almost brought her to shiver. She resisted the urge and took a step closer to him. She wasn't sure what he was or what she was getting herself into.
Forgotten by choice, lost by others. She gave no further explanation. To many put there burden on others. She would carry her own grief and her own mistakes. She needed no one to lift her burden. More to the point she had never found anyone to even lend her hand.
His offer is pondered for a moment or two before she decides on what to do. She could go alone and find the horrors of which he spoke or she could take a risk and let him take her back to the hole she now called home. Her mind finally choose an option. Her deep blue eyes take him in once more.
If it's not to much trouble.........I would appriciate the company. Her words were soft and she was sure they were far from convincing. She might have control over the dead when she wanted it but most would never believe it as shy as she seemed.

Aran regarded the woman again, taking another moment to think on his offer. For all he knew she was witch bait for some kind of sting operation on anything that tried to snack around the park. He wouldn't exactly be surprised if that would catch a few vamps or something out but if they wanted to play like that he'd be the perfect gentlemen just to have a laugh. That said she didn't smell of witch and he still wasn't prepared to imagine she was a human.
"I was just leaving the park myself, it'd hardly be a hassle to walk with someone. Besides company at this time of night is a bit of a rarity these days, but always welcome all the same." He was possibly laying on the good guy act a little thick but if he could walk out of the park with someone that lone man who may or may not have stolen your watch or wallet vanished. Of course his slight worry about running into an officer at this time of night was one thing the witches had helped with, there were a few more witches and a few less cops.

She nodded softly as he agrees to walk with her or maybe she had agreed to walk with him. She wasn't really sure nor was she really bothered. It was an unneccessary worry. She walked up to the path and looked back at him and waited for him to join her. Her eyes watch him wondering what he fell under in all the different things that apparently wondered this city. She didn't think upon it long for fear that she might decide to risk going alone.
Company is always good.... Her words slip out softly once again as she tries to fight off her shiness.

Aran watched the woman start walking, apparently expecting him just to follow. She was a strange one that was for sure, but since he didn't feel threatened in any way he was far more curious than worried about what he had picked up. Who could actually manage to not hear about all the trouble that had been springing up lately, it was almost unbelievable. Then again she had referred to herself as being forgotten, maybe she was just out of the loop a little. Either way he moved to catch up with her, stopping at her side but leaving some space between them as they walked.
"Well, almost always, in this sort of situation though I'd have to say it always is." He smiled a little, not at anything in particular. He was just hoping for a quiet night on the witch front.

She turns and looks at him as he speaks. Her hand slides up to play along the charms that hang from her neck. It was a nervous habit she had picked up when she was much younger. He seemed different from many of the people she had meet in her life but still she was a little unsure.
As he ends his words she tilts her head a little Could you..... Her voice fades away as she thinks of how to ask what it was that she wanted to know. .... tell me about the danger? She was unsure whether he would tell her or if it was something she would have to find out for herself.

Aran noticed her fiddling with the charms around her neck, but didn't spare the action any more than a glance. Nervousness perhaps or an old habit, either either way it wasn't anything he had to concern himself with. He was glad that she gave him something else to focus on but he still had the problem of not being entirely sure what she was.
"I could. but I hope you wouldn't mind telling me what you are first." He then smiled innocently, as if this should be common knowledge. "Some things walking around don't need to hear all of it."

((Hallo Hallo. Hope I'm not interupting anything.))
Things were finally looking up for Zahler. After weeks of travel from the last adventure's end he had found civilization at last. His life would never quite be the same as before, but it was going to be better than at Kulta, which he had barely gotten out of before it went up in flames. But now he never had to worry about that again. A new city, a new life. He was starting over, and his past wasn't part of him anymore, at least that's what he thought when he arrived.
"I know it wasn't my fault. Aspen couldn't hold that stinking tiger of hers back, and Aislin... well, it was a defense mechanism, and me being there wouldn't have made a difference. I mean, how am I going to stop a giant flamming monster for pete's sake? How was I gonna know Ash was even going to turn into a giant flamming monster? It was totally outa the blue. I'm lucky I sensed the danger when I did and got out of there... No, that's not true. I couldn't do anything for Aspen, besides, even if I'd had the chance to save her she wouldn't have gone anywhere without that tiger thing, without Raiden. I... I can't carry something that big on the hover-wave, its just not designed for it. I know, I'm just making excuses, but was there really anything I could do? If I could go back, if I had just one more chance, maybe... Maybe things would have turned out differently," Zahler said, arguing with himself as he walked into the park, oblivious to any and all around him. He sat on a bench and sighed, mulling over what had happened in Kulta. Through out his journey away from there he hadn't had time to think about the two years he'd spent there, much less the last twenty minutes, but now that he did, he realized how lonely he was, and how much he was going to miss his friends Ramule, Aspen, even Kendra, though she'd tried to eat him in the end. He hoped things wouldn't end the same way for people over here.

Solem hesitated at his question. She didn't often tell people what she really was. Human usually keept them quite but she had a feeling he would press her until she finally told him. She wasn't scared of others knowing what she could do...it was the idea of them using it against her. Worse yet using her against others. Her fingers continue to play over the charms that hang around her neck. Should she tell him or just wait to see what he does? Should she betray her shy nature and open up to someone even the slightest bit?
She sighs softly and moves a little closer to him. Her eyes looking him over once again. He seemed alright at least for now. Her words come out soft and slow, I am human for the most part....my only difference is I'm a Necromancer. Her eyes watched him to see his reaction, but are drawn away by anothers words. They are drawn to the one on the bench nearby talking to himself. She moved closer still to the stranger beside of her. She felt safer with him then near this new stranger.

Aran nodded when she replied, though the answer confused him a little. It didn't exactly explain how she had noticed him so easily earlier. Well either way she wasn't a witch and wasn't a were so that put most of his concerns to rest. He really didn't need to be running into pack weres any time tonight either. Necromancers were fine in his book, sure the whole playing with the dead thing was a bit iffy but so long as she didn't make a zombie out of anyone he knew he wasn't about to complain.
He had been about to say something but the sounds of talking cut him off. His eyes moved over to the bench containing the boy as well, wondering what he was doing out here. Seemed like he was collecting people who didn't know the danger they were in tonight. He was happy to notice that the woman had moved a little closer to him, maybe she was going to be a little more trusting.

Zahler looked up, not sure where he was. This usually happened when he was arguing with himself, one moment he was one place, the next he was somewhere totally different. Observing his surroundings, he noticed a man and a woman nearby, both probably in their early twenties, and they seemed a little uncertain of him. Of course! Zahler smacked his forhead. If he was wandering around while talking to himself, he must have looked like a... Well a weirdo at least. "Heh, excuse me," He said, turning to the couple, or what he thought was probably a couple, though it was a little late at night for this sort of thing, but what did he know. "Sorry about the... You know... Talking to myself and stuff. I just... Yeah. My life, little good as it was, got a little bit worse about a week or so ago, so I needed to vent a little. By the way, do you know where I am?"

Solem watched him as he spoke. She grew more uneasy of him the longer he talked. She slowly scutted closer to this one that she had only meet minutes earlier. She didn't even know his name but she felt safer with him then with this one that seemed to enjoy talking to himself and randomly to others. As he asks a question she remains silent and continues to move closer to the man beside of her. She didn't realize how close she was moving until she bumped into him. She blushes deeply and looks at him hoping he wasn't offended or irritated.
Solem normally didn't let things bother her but she was a little more uneasy now that danger had been mentioned but she wasn't sure what kind of danger. She liked to know who she was playing against and how far she would have to go to win.

Aran wasn't sure if it was a day of hanging around in dangerous places while not knowing about the problems facing the city or what but it seemed he was going to be in the middle of things. He gave something of a sigh before turning to the boy and offering a smile. With any luck none of his previous worries about the woman applied to this kid.
"Ah well that's understandable, always nice to get things off your chest and this place is normally quiet." He paused for a moment, not sure how much he should tell the boy about what was going on since he seemed pretty human at the moment. "As for where you are, you'd be in the Cheshire city park, probably not the best place for a kid your age to be at this time of night." Heck being out this late in any park alone was a bad move, knowing what lurked around this one made it all the more dangerous.

Zahler looked away, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Chesire city," he mused, saying it to no one in particular. "Odd, I don't seem to remember coming here. I mean, that's not unusual for me, but I usually recognize when I get to a city. The only thing is, I did arrive at a city not too long ago, but it wasn't called Chesire. I think it was Kray Wan or something similar. How'd I get here," He paused, looking off into space again, but turned back suddenly. "Well, no matter. I suppose I should find myself somewhere to stay for the night, seeing as this seems to be the sort of city where all manners of strange beasties could turn up. Do you know where I could take shelter for a while, I'd rather not be caught between some feuding Were-clans or some such while I sleep on a bench."

Solem still remained silent. Her one hand resting upon the charms that hung around her neck. She moved a little behind the one who wasn't babbling. The babbling one scared her more then any zombie she had ever meet. She had learned that crazy humans were far worse then anything she had ever come in contact with really. She didn't want to put the guy who was helping her at risk but he seemed much better at taking care of the issue then she was.
As the other mention were-clan she tilted her head a little. She hadn't thought about what the dangers spoken of could be. She had never meet a were in her life but she had heard grand stories and horror stories. There were those were who had done great things and then those who had done terrible things. It all go jumbled in the end though. As these thoughts filled her mind she started to think of what all else might be here that would be dangerous. It sent shivers up her spine.

Aran wasn't sure what to make of the boy, he knew about the were clans but he didn't seem to be anything more than a human. Wouldn't be the first time he'd not been sure tonight but still. The fact that he was so eager to think out loud as well didn't exactly help his slight edge, that wasn't what he would consider normal.
"The Cheshire Cat has some rooms to let above it assuming you have money. The owner can be a bit stingy but he'd okay for a rat. That's probably your best bet at this time of night. Last I checked the witches were the worst problem but yeah, these benches don't make great beds." He gave half a grin, imagining anyone being stupid enough to sleep out here.

Zahler nodded. "All right then, I'll head there," He said, walking away and out of the park. A mintue later he was back. "Yes, um, I seem to have forgotten something," He said, looking embaressed. He started looking around, seeming like he wasn't quite sure what he was doing. "Now if only I could figure out what I'd forgotten. What was it, what was it... Hmmm. Oh well. No matter, but it's a good thing I came back, because I don't really know where this Chesire Cat is. If you could give me directions, I would be very happy," He said, still looking in every direction.

Solem tilts her head and looks at the one beside of her. Her black bangs falling down infront of her eyes and the rest of her hair falling around her shoulders. A rat running a place. That had to be a joke or at least a nickname. She hadn't meet many rats that were the intelligent much less many that would want to run something of that nature. She had a feeling she had come to a place where she was going to be a bit overhead. She had lived in several different places where strange things lived but this was seemed to be far stranger then most of the places she had been.
Solem listens quietly as the other one speaks and is pretty certain that something is missing in his mind, but she keeps the opinion to herself. To each his own. She was just glad that she wasn't out her alone to meet up with him. She probably would have taken off running and ignored him as best as possible. In a way she was said that she was so bashful and shy, but at other times she was sure it was a good thing.

Aran smiled a little as the kid returned, with any luck he'd be okay on his own, he seemed to know enough about the paranormal world. With any luck he was just a little absent minded.
"Erm, lets see." He started, scratching his chin and looking around. "If you follow that path and turn left at the exit, follow the road and take the third right, you should walk straight past it after a few minutes. Yu can't exactly miss it." Aran followed his words with little hand gestures out of habit though their usefulness was questionable.

Zahler nodded, dragging his eyes back to the man. Looking closely, his features seemed to have a feral edge to them, but his face was kind enough. Zahler decided he liked him, but wouldn't want to cross him either. Turning, he suddenly bent over and reached behind the bench he had been sitting on earlier. A look of satisfaction crossed his face as he pulled out a stave made of dark wood, with a slender paintbrush tip at the end. Examining it, he nodded, another satisfied look flickering over his features. A click, and the tip retreated and a spear-head protruded from the other end, which was thouroughly examined as well. Finnally, he hooked it onto his back, flicked a mock salute at the man, and headed on his way. He quickly came back into view and followed the directions the man had given.
