Vampires
Vampires are creatures of propriety and so do not take very well to half-breeds of their kind. Vampire/were hybrids are virtually unheard of because the child is slaughtered early in life. However, if the child manages to survive, he or she must be cunning enough to dodge the bounty on his or her head. It is the same with all hybrids except for vampire/human hybrids. These hybrids aren't as affected by sun, holy water, and garlic as their sire or dam but it can hurt them to some extent.
Though vampires can mate with others, they cannot mate with themselves [at least here on Cheshire]. The result of such a process would be a stillborn child as they cannot support such a burden.
Weres & Changelings
Like vampires, weres and changelings would prefer not to mate outside of their species. However, if such a thing occurs between were/changeling and a human, the child's gene pool would be mutated due to the were virus and the changeling bloodline. Were and changeling weaknesses do not occur in their children often because of the recessive genes. Also due to the changelings mentality, they often have highly unstable minds as well as in their shifting abilities. Weres femmes have to be wary with having children because their bodies could attack the unborn during the full moons while pregnant. The issue isn't just an outside thing. The virus rages rampant during the full moon and can stampede the fetus out of existence.
Changelings & Humans
This mixture is highly unstable due to the magical and mundane blood mix. They often experience severe pain at times since their bodies do not produce the chemical needed to deaden the pain like weres do. Psychosis, paranoia and other types of mental disease is often seen in this hybrid as well as extreme grumpiness and violent nature in most. It is extremely rare to find any that do not posses the changelings foul mouth and nature in the least, in these sort of mixes. When one of the hybrids fall ill they often are forced into their smallest beast form to recover their strength, some unfortunately never retain a humanoid shape and instead are a vile mix of human and beast. ( Like a hairless wolf with spikes over it’s body and so forth ) When born these creatures always start out as a beast, only learning their human like form later in life. For example, my character David didn’t learn he had a human shape till he was five and that is young for a hybrid to learn to control its chi to take on human shape. In society these mixes are treated like abominations, neither belonging to the paranormal world nor the human world itself.
Dragons
Like vampires, dragon hybrids are usually slain at birth. Dragons will only mate with demons or humans when it comes to outside their species because demons and humans are the only creatures compatible with their system. Dragon/demon hybrids are more creature than man, while dragon/human hybrids are more man than creature. Their dragon side usually comes out to protect them when the child is hurt or in danger, but it is usually a short spurt of energy that can possibly leave the dragon side permanently dormant.
If the dragon was cursed to such a form, then the child takes most of its genetic pool from the opposite parent with only a few traits from the other. If when the dragon dies, the last child born to them inherits their curse.
Dragon hybrids, obviously, are weaker than their parents in some respects.
Faes
Fae mixes are popular due to the mischievous attitude of a fae's sexual views. They possess half of the magic of their fae parent that usually explodes at puberty, often to comical effect [becoming small randomly; small trees in the child's hair; markings randomly appearing;].
Nagas
Nagas mate with their own kind as usual, reproducing with eggs. They take care of their own even if the litter is half-bred [if they survive the sulfur and heat that require Naga eggs to hatch].
Witches
Since witches are humans, they reproduce as such. If they breed with something else [dragon, fae, etc], they have a 1/4 chance of having no magic, 1/4 of having their witch parent's magic, 1/4 of having their non-witch parent's magic, and 1/4 chance of having both in halved doses. If a witch breeds with someone of the non-magic community, the child bares a 1/2 chance of having it or not.
Spirits
Spirits cannot reproduce.
Gargoyles
Gargoyles tend to keep to their own kind, and hybrids are typically killed if they survive or turned into immobiles. Anything beyond gargoyle/human or gargoyle/demon mixes will not survive, and those mixes mentioned before will be ugly with mottled skin and twisted features [horns, tail, etc].
Gargoyle males can lay eggs in the case where females are lacking.
Those cursed to a gargoyle state are not exempt from the previous statement and will lay a clutch that bears features from any kind of sperm.
Shinigami
Though they are technically dead, the bodies they use in the real world are crafted for reproduction and their characteristics are passed on as usual. Depending on the circumstances, children of shinigami have an easier chance of being taken away instantly by the Council, killed, and trained in the ways of their shinigami parents. If shinigami are not in their earthly bodies, they cannot reproduce [i.e. wraith'ilbindr or those in hell].
Pregnant women who die and become shinigami have their child extracted and examined as well. If so, their child is taken away to be trained.
Child shinigami do not age physically but instead, it is done so manually in the shinigami's training process
