Name: Kavindu Age: 1221 years; looks 20 Gender: Male Race: Eagle demon; Shinigami Height: 5' 11" Eye Color: His appearance--tanned skin, old scars, hardened expression--give the evidence of his age, but nothing can be compared to his eyes, the way they gleam, glitter, and shine at the sound of war. His unearthly eyes, his smiling eyes, his eyes that are the color of a hurricane cloud at its peak: swirls of monochromatic gray with hints of black and white Hair Color: White Hair Style: Shaggy but kept short Clothing:
Build: See above Personality: Kavindu rarely trusts loners unless you have proven yourself, and his compliments are rarely given. However, if they are, consider yourself to be honored. He likes practicing fighting techniques and would love to fight someone who he believes can give him ‘a beautiful death‘. He will take advantage of any opportunity to do so. However, Kavindu is very honorable. If someone helps him out, he will not hesitate to repay the offer. Kavindu tries not to gain enemies by showing great respect to those he had fought, but he is cunning, fierce, fearless and strong. He will do whatever it takes to survive. He believes everyone should be firmly yet justly disciplined, and Kavindu does not tolerate derogatory comments about others, for they should be respected. However, he has a tendency to be belligerent and will not hesitate going to war if called to do so. He tends to be hasty, and rude and crude. Kavindu is honorable in his own way, even if he has to steal to get his way through the day. He is considered to be a brick wall in many respects, relentless and fearsome. History: Raka and Salina had been friends since they were kids and now that they were adults, they couldn't wait to declare their love for the world. Ignoring the rules of their parents (who were feuding at the time), Salina became pregnant with Raka's child. Happiness could not be the definate word for what they felt. However, secrets didn't hold forever as Salina's sister, Kiziah, told their parents what had occurred. Furious, Salina's parents tried to have Raka killed. Told to flee by Raka, Salina ran to a nearby monastery in the Spires and promptly began her labor, bearing a son named Kavindu. Salina later received word that Kiziah had been killed by Raka because of Kiziah's treachery. In return, Raka was put to death. This left Salina in a period of displacement and mourning.
The monastery accepted the child into apprenticeship, giving Kavindu a mentor by the name of Kiet. Kiet was a slow and gentle teacher, doing whatever it took to make sure Kavindu understood everything he taught. He befriend two other brothers, Night and Ceferino. It was during accessment that Kavindu witnessed a terrible deed done to a fellow apprentice named Rain: the dictatorship of Rain's mentor Torin that drove his brother to suicide. Kavindu vowed never ever to act like that when he became a mentor.
When Night, Kavindu, and Ceferino became true brothers of the monastery at age 18 and were allowed to pilgrimage and seek other lands, they were the typical party-boy trio that got all the ladies and drove all the parents mad. Night was the badboy, Kavindu was the fierce knight, and Ceferino was the incubus that seemed to have a new lover every month.
Kavindu obtained his first apprentice when he was twenty, a boy by the name of Aster. He taught the know-it-all apprentice much there is to know about fighting, respect, and honor, seeing to it that Aster became a monk. Kavindu had no mate, unlike his pimp-daddy brothers who seemed to think baby-mama drama is just an elder's tale. He hadn't even found someone to care for when he was slain in the Spires. Because of his heritage as a demon, he was sent to Hell and tested, succeeding to become a shinigami with an eagle familiar. He decided to return to Earth to guard the long-abandoned monastery where he was born and raised. Important Notes:
- He is hybrai'dih, which means he has a familiar. It is a large bald eagle named Gawain who only answers his call. His sword, Auberon, possesses an aura who makes it seem like its victim has been pierced in multiple areas.
- He is often called the Spirit of the Spires and rarely ventures out into the open.
