Cheshire City - Ocuruu

WELCOME

Welcome to Cheshire City my friend, the place that never sleeps and whom residents all hold a secret. Don’t be scared though. They mean no harm, or in the least most of them do not. You see, during the day the humans live here. Going about their everyday lives, not knowing what lurks just inches from their precious light. Hiding in the shadows and biding their time till the sun falls deep and the moon rises high. Then, then it is their time to rule. To lurk and take their payment for being imprisoned here in this hell. You see, the city draws many of the darkness to it’s fold. No one knows why, but well, some say it is because this city is truly the hell of old. Others say it is heaven, though these folk may be as madd as I am you see.

All the same, there is always something going on here, always a tale to tell. City life never stops you see, and it all links together like the chains of slavery. Each link, connecting both beginning to end in orderly fashion, just as each resident is somehow involved in the next city dwellers life. If they know of it or not, their all connected in their insanity, their misery, their life. So come on in, find a place to call home, and enter the city. If you dare.

plot

A new day has dawned and the feared Delano is dead. Killed by a unseen hand that is rumored to be one of the greatest hunters ever. His bounty fulfilled he now is relaxing in this new place. This new town, if it’s hip enough maybe, just maybe he’ll turn it into his permanent home. This killer of those that live in the dark. He has recently though found the advantage of one race, the dragon race. They make good little pets to do his laundry, as well as his bidding. Very powerful, very destructive, much to his likening. Now he is on a quest to imprison the city’s dragons, bind them with spells from a good old friend of his to his being. To make them all his slaves.

Though while his sights are upon the reptilian race, another battle is forged within the city. Three were pack leaders have gone missing. Only the Southern Pack leader, Marius the tiger were remains. Who will take over these packs and restore order to the beastial race of demons? No one knows….. But maybe… just maybe you are the one that can restore order to this city of anarchy?

I'm opening up the new character creation area though it is not yet completed. It'll be visible to all members so people may make comments on the changes if they wish under the suggestions board. All information in the new section will supersede that in the city guide which will have irrelevant information removed once the updates are finished.

Also a new plot thread is open in the Moonstone, now would be the time to throw in any weres you want to get involved.

Race Name: Ocuruu

Lifespan: 200 yrs
Adulthood: 18 yrs

Description:
The Ocuruu are basically symbiotic humans. They keep mystic roses and, depending how well they keep their rose, gain power from it. Any human can become an Ocuruu but once you've bonded with the rose its well being effects your mental and physical state until the day you die (some have severed the bond with the rose using magic)

Typical personality:
Think green. They tend to be more geared towards save the earth versus save the animals. They aren't generally vegan or anything like that but they care about the environment.
Other than that they're as different from eachother as any humans living together in a society under a shared religion.

Typical territory:
Most clansmen are found in the original site (the coven house where the green daanezu fell) making sure all the roses are taken care of. Before they're allowed to take a rose with them the Ocuruu who want to leave has to apply to prove they'll take care of the rose.
Exodus Ocuruu (those who leave) tend to find abandoned buildings or take to the hobo life style. Some live in homes and apartments but an apartment isn't too good a place to grow a mystic rose.
Some just leave since the roses at the origional site are well taken care of. No matter how far away they are they're still connected to the roses they've bonded with.

Diet: food...

Mating:
Half breeds are possible and the clan doesn't look down upon them at all. Most half breeds tend to gravitate towards the Ocuruu because of their accepting nature.
Unfortunately the rose only bonds with living humans so if a human becomes a vampire (or something else that'll interfere with their humanity) the bond is broken.

Magic: Not all can learn magic but, because of the way they're raised, they avoid witches and tend to discriminate against them, but gravitate towards dark species even though they're technically human.

Powers:
Physically the Ocuruu are basically super human. They're faster and stronger than normal humans. They can regenerate and transform the color of their bodies (all at once or one body part at a time).
The regeneration is an active power. The ability requires concentration although it can be used in short spurts as a pain killer.
Their regeneration is basically the conversion of natural energy to flesh. Using this the Ocuruu are capable of growing back limbs but not vital organs (they can't regenerate complex organs and tissue). It slows down damage caused by poison but doesn't cure any type of poison or disease.
The other side of the power is the mental strain involved in using paranormal powers. The Ocuruu can cause another being to suffer from dementia, hallucinations and/or extreme paranoia. This power isn't mystical in nature it's psychic. It's a good weapon agaisnt witches because many spells to protect one's mind are shields against mystic attack. Therefore the Ocuruu power allows them to slip through this type of defense.
The Ocuruu also tend to create weapons that would be useless to other humans. Their increased physical abilities allow them to weild specialized weapons. Every Exodus Ocuruu has at least one of these weapons.

Weaknesses: A fear of fire and contempt for technology of any kind.

History:
The Ocuruu were once a race of humans who worshiped a single ancient green daanezu. They gave offerings to the creature and named themselves its servants. In turn the daanezu demon granted the human's its favor and used it's power over the green earth to care for and nurture them.
The humans were happy until their lord was captured by a coven of witches. The green daanezu was tortured and killed by this band of witches but not before creating one last work of art. A glorious, wicked plant he called: The Mad Rose.
The Mad Rose, the creature's last tragic masterpiece, was a black rose that didn't burn or wilt. As long as it's taken care of it rewards its caregiver with natural power. If neglected instead of withering it'll cause dementia, hallucinations and/or extreme paranoia to the creatures around it. Prolonged neglect causes the human to become depressed and suicidal, eventually driving them mad if they don't kill themselves first.

Starting ideas:
The son of the Ocuruu Chief (played by me) has come to Cheshire due to a dispute with the elders of the Ocuruu. He has been banished from his home and is seeking a place to lay his head.
Any one who wants to be one of the Ocuruu can be previously aquainted with the "prince" or even a member of his family. I'm not a stickler for rules so just make a character and perhaps we'll rp sometime.
